Oxclose pupil achieves sporting success at Middlesbrough Powerchair Football Academy
Back
We are so proud of Caden F for his achievements in powerchair football with Middlesbrough Academy. After a very strong season, Caden was the stand-out player in the WFA Play Off against Nottingham Forest on Saturday 6th June. Very much the underdogs, Caden's team excelled against higher league opposition not least due to his excellent skills, strong defensive qualities and ongoing encouragement for his team. Caden is a leader and sets the example to others in terms of determination, fighting for every challenge and using his personality to encourage and lift others, for example when his team conceded a late goal in extra time to take the play off to penalties. You give your first penalty to your strongest, most level-headed player and that was Caden - skillfully sending the keeper the wrong way, a rare thing in powerchair football! Middlesbrough went on to win, as seen live by many in the Oxclose community thanks to a live WFA broadcast online.
Caden's dream is, one day, to play for his beloved Sunderland and he hopes that they will take the next step of setting up their own powerchair football network. We couldn't be prouder of you Caden and look forward to following your future successes in this sport.
