Future-Ready Learning: Oxclose starts iPad rollout
Back
Oxclose Community Academy is embracing the future of education with the rollout of iPads to all students over the last 2 weeks, as part of Laidlaw Schools Trust’s PedTech strategy.
The initiative is designed to enhance classroom learning, boost digital skills and provide new opportunities for interactive and personalised lessons. As part of the rollout, Oxclose students took part in an exciting unboxing roadshow led by Paul Tullock, Executive Lead of PedTech and Innovation at LST.
“An iPad allows every student to personalise their learning. It means that learning isn’t just possible, it’s meaningful. This event as 'a game changer'.”
Every student in Years 9, 10 and 11 received their own devices last week, opening up opportunities for personalised learning, creativity and collaboration. Teachers will also benefit, using iPads to deliver interactive lessons, provide instant feedback and reduce reliance on printed resources.
The start of the rollout marks a significant milestone for Oxclose, empowering students to take ownership of their learning and develop essential digital skills for the future. From exploring educational apps to creating multimedia projects, the devices will help pupils become creators, not just consumers.
And the journey didn't stop here. Year 7 and Year 8 students were next in line and have received their iPads this week, ensuring that every student across the Academy benefits from this transformative approach. This means the entire community will soon be equipped to embrace technology-driven learning, making Oxclose a truly future-ready Academy.
The PedTech approach, focusing on pedagogically driven technology use, aims to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. By personalising their devices, students can extend learning beyond the classroom, revisit concepts and work at their own pace.
The iPad rollout reflects Laidlaw Schools Trust’s commitment to harnessing technology to improve education and equip young people with the skills they need for life beyond the classroom.
